Really fantastic. Enjoyed everything about it.

The atmosphere is fantastic. Despite the Itch-Page I did not expect that gameplay twist at all. It's a really unique game and on top of that it has good enough execution that I am getting some really big interest on the original genres.

My only issue with the game was the puzzle in the art gallery. I had been on the wrong thread for quite a little while and I had to search up a playthrough on youtube to figure it out.
Nevertheless the solution is insanely cool. I am unsure how to make it more readable so you can understand it more easily.

And I won't spoil the end here but it I really like it. It's nothing special but from the atmosphere I expected something very different so I am very happy with resolution.

great concept and it worked perfectly, also the visuals are unique but amazing would recommend

Super cool concept that was interesting and fun to play! The visuals were great and really blended well with the feel of a text adventure.

I've pressed every button in my keyboard, there's just no way of exiting narrarive mode. It's also the only word translated in to spanish wich is kinda weird, so I don't understand what even is "Tilde" to begin with.

(+1)

"Tilde" is the squiggle line next to the 1 key, and above the tab key. That should be the key that changes modes.

very cool consept and grate exacution would love to see more but if you do id love to see a predictive text feture so i don't have to wright look feel smell ect over and over again

Wonderful concept and an absolute treat on an oled. I hope to see you expand on it and do a full game.

This is such an incredible concept and awesomely executed! I love the artstyle and coloration staying in tune with the text-based adventure feel, and the minimal music with mostly sound effects. Love it

(+3)

Just want to say this game was incredible I hope you're able to expand on the idea.

I have always dreamed of being able to see the environments described in text adventures while playing Zork. I hope one day a game with the same complexity can be produced. In the meantime, I offer you my sincere congratulations and thanks.

I have a qwertz keyboard and to type tilde i have to type right alt + "+", which doesn't work. Instead of hiding the narration it just writes it into text prompt...

(+3)

I had to press the button left to the character "1"

i also have a quertz keyboard and that worked for me as well! so it would be the "^" key for me

Here you have some suggestions:

1. Visualize/imagine
2. Smell
3. Touch
4. Hear

thank you so much!!!

You did yourself :)

Such a cool concept! The lockbox took me a while to figure out, but it was very satisfying once I got to the end.

Fantastic game, i loved the concept and execution so much, and the art puzzle one is good too.

I have only a small issue, it is when going through the dark corner, once i reach this screen there's no way to go forward or back where i came from.

The only way to get out of it is by quitting and replaying the game again.

edit: i got it :) still fantastic game

Glad you were able to find a way around it!

That was a bug we missed in the jam version, but have just uploaded (as of a few minutes ago!) a new version that should fix a few of those quirks that snuck by us :)

(+1)

Great! now i have a reason to replay it :)

awesome concept, text adventure games are great. Alas, I could not get past the gallery lockbox, but other than that it was smooth!

(+4)

I made an account just to tell you that I absolutely love the concept and execution and would love to see a full version of this game! Insanely clever. Keep making cool things.

Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed it!

yo is anyone else having a little trouble in the throne room? i looked at the table and something else appeared in the narrative overlay but it doesn't show up in first person view and i can't interact with it...

That was a bug that made it into the jam version of the game, but should now be fixed in the latest version! We left those in for only the most stouthearted of adventurers to discover, you see...

this is so cool!!!

(+1)

i was pressing the tilde and nothing was happening, i got stuck in the run with the crate and barrel

could it be because my keyboard layout isn't english?

(+3)

It may be because of that, yeah, the key that worked for me was the quotation marks, if it doesn't work for you, i would suggest just pressing different keys and see which one works

(+4)

Super cool game, would kill for a longer version of this. The combo of text adventure and 3d game is a great idea.

I really like the looking and atmosphere of this game. May I ask how can I learn how to make a game like this. For someone who has experience with coding but no experience with making games, where do I start?

Hi, thanks for checking out our game!

I got started learning Unity with the help of Brackeys' channel and would highly recommend it:

thx ouo

I am also having this issue, I've tried both firefox and edge. Other people seem to be able to play it though? Maybe make a downloadable version?

Thanks for letting us know! We've uploaded an uncompressed web version that hopefully fixes that error (haven't been able to reproduce it yet).

There's also a Windows version available there.

bruh

Hey Nirvana! Thanks for letting me know about this. Does it load successfully when trying a different browser like Chrome/Firefox?

We've uploaded an uncompressed web version:

https://mcbombadev.itch.io/context-catacombs-fix

Could you let us know if that fixes it? There's a Windows version available there as well if not.

Yep the uncompressed one is fine chrome works also was just the Itch.io app version not working at the time.

Awesome, glad it's working now! Thanks for confirming :)
